Mission Formats:
There is two mission formats and one weekend format conducted by Good News Ministries.
"Dare to Live the Gospel" - A Parish Mission
The “Dare to Live the Gospel” mission is the primary and most fundamental mission given by Good News Ministries. It has at its core the concepts of CONVERSION, SPITIRUALITY, and RELATIONSHIP. The heart of the mission is founded in the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus clearly calls each and everyone us to live the life of “light” and “salt”. It is based upon the "Be-attitudinal" proclamations of Jesus as the basis for living out His teachings in the Sermon on the Mount.
The need of conversion is not based in the need of change of one religion to her but in the deep understanding that God has more to offer. In order to enter into this “more” it is necessary to “change” or “convert” from the ways of the world to the way of the Spirit. Our spirituality in turn brings us to the depths of the ultimate journey… a deeper relationship with the God of the Universe.
Relationship is everything! There is nothing more important than relationship. The deepest and most profound relationship with God is found only through spiritual conversion.
The mission starts on Sunday evening and ends on Wednesday evening. Morning sessions can be done in addition to the evening sessions. The morning sessions are entirely different from the evening sessions.
"Living in the Kingdom" - A Parish Mission
The “Living in the Kingdom” mission is conducted usually as the follow up mission to the “Dare to Live the Gospel” mission. The focus is directed to the two solutions we believe will bring renewal to each person individually and in turn to the Church. These two solutions are the HOLY SPIRIT and understanding life in COMMUNITY. This is lived out first in our own personal families and then in the larger, Church family. Yielding to the direction of the Holy Spirit in our personal lives as well as in our spiritual lives IS the definitive solution to bringing healing and wholeness to our families and to the Church family.
The format for this mission is the same as for the “Dare to Live the Gospel” mission. The mission starts on Sunday evening and ends on Wednesday evening. Morning sessions can be done for this mission also. The morning sessions are entirely different than the evening sessions.
"Stewardship" - A Parish Seminar
One of the major challenges facing the Church today revolves around the issue of Stewardship. As often as it spoken of in the Church, there still remains the problem of implementation. The problem is the "how to's." This weekend seminar develops very spicifically the blue print for transforming a church into a church community whose mindset or vision is based in the spirituality of true stewardship. Time, talent, and treasure are understood in the context of witness, blessing, and generosity.
This Seminar is centered in Church teachings, spiritually based, and biblically oriented.
